Save us, Lord our God, and gather us from the nations,... To Give Thanks! We really enjoy celebrating Thanksgiving in our house. When I was younger, I admit, it was about eating more than I should and then watching the Aggies play American football. As I've aged, I can't eat as much and I'm more mindful of the great many things to be thankful for. Psalm 106:47 says, "Save us, Lord our God, And gather us from the nations, To give thanks to Your holy name And glory in Your praise." Our life of ministry has yielded so many places to speak out our thanks, and a great many people are remembered when we do. With that in mind, this month is going to be a special focus on the Lord. For those who want to know what we were up to in November... Here's a break-down of the past month:
Given all these blessings, I don't want to be a downer, but please read on to see a pressing need facing us. But now, I want to be thankful to God for the following (and so much more):
Prayer, Praise, People Here's a snapshot of how to pray for the ministry right now:
The Month In PicturesSPOTLIGHT: Giving of ThanksLately, the Lord has been reminding me by His Word that my attitude of thankfulness has been weak. Y'all, there is so much to be thankful for, and thankfulness will crush those feelings of anxiety and doubt that often plague us. Maybe I should just talk about myself, right? I don't want to assume YOU have anxiety or worries or doubts, but I've found that when these problems hit me, being thankful will more clearly guide me toward that "peace that surpasses all earthly understanding" than anything else. Are you stressed? When were you last purposely thankful? Here are some Thanksgiving comments from social media that I found encouraging or funny*... is yours there? * If you don't know it yet, humor isn't a love language but... shut up, Carl, it's TOTALLY my love language. Take notes, Gary Chapman!
:: Grateful to be able to celebrate American Thanksgiving with our Romanian family. What a blessing they are to us! We're so thankful for Youth for Christ Romania, for our coworkers, and especially for the youth who are the reason we do what we do. We're also very thankful for all of our generous partners in ministry, whose selfless generosity enables us to do this work. I don't want to scare anyone, but we do need to increase that giving in order to continue here in Slatina. If that's surprising to you, click here to see our current needs. If you know already you'd like to give... Please surf around on our website, check back often for more additions, and be ready for next month's focus on the social media presence of YFC RO that Rebeca's been such a strong part of creating. Now, our special "Thanksgiving-themed" UNITY Questions that some of you answered online!:
