Financial Partnership Made Simple

11/27/2019

As we traveled from Texas to Iowa to Kentucky to Pennsylvania to Tennessee to North Carolina to Georgia and back to Texas (fwew!), we were so thankful to connect with many of you! Many asked about the mission we were involved in back in Slatina – that's for another post. Many asked what we thought about living in another country – that's coming later too! What I want to address today is how many people asked...

Of course, we told people that we need people to partner with us and those serving with us in Romania in prayer – for the youth, their families, and all of us! We will regularly guide you on the prayer needs so you can stand in the gap with us. But this post is about giving you everything you need to partner with us financially!

I know we're all busy, so if this is enough detail for you, here are the bullet points:

  • STEP 1: Go to this link (https://yfci.org/staff/david-rebeca-clinkscales/) and click DONATE NOW.
  • STEP 2: If you’ve already given, you already have an account but may need to activate it to view your giving history here (https://yfci.account.webconnex.com; use the email you first used to give/register).
    • STEP 2a: If you need to set up an account, click button on LEFT; if you've done that, click the RIGHT.
    • STEP 2b: Once there, if you're a monthly partner already through Youth for Christ USA (YFC USA), please stop your previous giving through YFC USA (if automatic) and go to the link at step one to set up giving in the correct place, through Youth for Christ International ( YFCI, the same building, different floors!).
  • STEP 4: You’re done – because of faithful givers like y’all, we’re that much closer to being fully funded!

But if you need a little more guidance, read on!

First, you need to know our Youth for Christ International Giving Link. Especially if you've only got our old link from Youth for Christ USA, you must change your giving from the old link to the new link (it's below). Your giving is much appreciated and makes it possible for us to serve youth in Romania! If you continue in partnership with us, we are that much closer to being fully funded for the mission work we've been involved in here in Slatina for the past year. Here is the link typed out:

https://yfci.org/staff/david-rebeca-clinkscales/

By clicking on the Logo or link above, you will be taken to our new giving link.  If you've ever made a payment online or set up an automatic bill pay through your bank, you won't find anything unfamiliar here! I'm also creating an explanitory video or two for the visual among us so the switch is as seemless as possible (go to our VIDEOS page to see those). As always, if you have any questions please contact me and I'll walk you through the process.

Second, if you've already set up an account with Youth for Christ, your current account should already be ready for the change! I'd encourage you to go to The Donor Portal (from Step 1 above) to manage your giving, and cancel your recurring donation.* THEN, go to our new giving link (from Step 2 above) by clicking the logo above or this link and set up a NEW recurring donation – by doing this, you will giving to the right account and NOT be giving twice! Don't forget, on the sign-in page, you can sign in immediately with your donor portal sign-in and your saved info will automatically repopulate on the form (as a safe guard for you, you may need to re-enter your account or card info).

Lastly, I want to cover a couple points that would be a help to us all and very little additional work for either of us.

Financial Nuts & Bolts: A Help To All

Picture
Of course, you are in control of your giving, but we all want to be wise stewards of the Lord's blessings. With that in mind, consider how your funds will be used for ministry.

When you give, I'm sure you are already prayerfully considering your budget and ability to give. We need to increase our monthly giving, which shows Youth For Christ International what they need to see to release all the funds we have already raised. Until that time, they are working with us to serve on a part-time basis. Though it's no long-term solution, this gives those who wanted to start giving when we were on mission the confidence that their hard earned money is being used! So what does this mean for our needs?

We need you to consider being a monthly partner with us financially!

If you can't do that, but want to give a one-time gift, I encourage you to consider how splitting that gift into multiple once-a-month donations adds to meeting our "fully funded monthly need." For example, if you want to increase your end of the year charitable giving by $600, you could send Youth for Christ International a check, indicating its allocation for 6 months at $100 a month. The same applies to any church that desires to give more substantially but doesn't want to commit to a monthly gift. By starting an account through the donor portal, your hypothetical gift of $2,000 becomes a partnership of $100 a month for 20 months, or $500 a month for four months! You control the amount. You control the duration!

Since you also control the way you give, I want to inform you how your giving is used.

10% of your giving serves as a "tithe" to Youth for Christ International** that partially covers things like the administrative needs used to process your gift, uphold United States laws regarding charitable donations, and legally inform all donors of their gifts so they can be claimed on their end-of-year tax returns in April (only necessary if giving more than $250 to the same ministry organization [such as Youth For Christ or your church] in a calander year).

Also, all credit card or debit card transactions will,
by the banking institution, take an additional 2.5% of your charitable giving.*** To avoid that deduction, consider giving through an automatic bank withdrawal (an EFT, Electronic Funds Transfer), or send a check if you prefer. For more information, see our videos. If you would like to set up an EFT or send a paper check, please write "95134" (our giving link number) and "Clinkscales" (or D&R Clinkscales, or David & Rebeca Clinkscales) on the memo line. Here is the address and info to do so:

YOUTH FOR CHRIST INTERNATIONAL
PO BOX 4555
ENGLEWOOD, CO. 80155
USA

By giving through EFT or check, more of your generosity will directly support the youth we're ministering to in Romania. We want to be transparent to you, our giving partners, so that you know exactly what your money is making possible.

In all these things, never forget that you are a vital and indespensible part of the work we do. We cannot do it without you, so your generosity is the physical means the Lord uses to proclaim the wonders of Jesus to people like you and me, who so need the grace He freely gives!

I hope I've answered how you can help us. Stay tuned for more posts and videos to come – you'll be amazed how God has already used your generosity to change lives for our good and His glory!

THE FINE PRINT

* Why do I have to cancel my previous giving? Even though Youth for Christ USA and Youth for Christ International are in the same building in Denver, CO. they have different company requirements as charitable institutions. To be brief, your giving to YFC USA has approximately 12% taken out of each donation, but YFC Int. only takes out 10%. Your giving will still make its way to us, but only after more has been taken out for YFC USA administrative needs. If you have further questions, please direct them to the home office here: stewardship@yfci.org. They have more info about this than I do!
** This means, simply, that $90 of a $100 gift will make it to us in Romania for the mission work here if you give by check or automatic withdrawl/EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer), or $450 of a $500 gift, and so on. It's generally true. However...
*** Since 2.5% of your card-based gift goes to a credit card or debit card institution as a processing fee, the hypothetical gift of $100 will result in $87.50 coming to the Romania mission after fees removed, $437.50 of your $500 gift, and so on.
