The newsletters have been on hold for far too long, so... Let's Start Them Again! January was crazy for us, but what else is new?! We've changed so much since the last time we sent an E-Newsletter, but here are the bullet points: We're both older and a little wiser, Jace is 13 & Chàris is 11, YFC Romania has been growing in staff and youth reached with the gospel, our local church here has grown, we still feel like we don't sleep enough (especially David), and we are looking to make another fundraising trip back to the States if something doesn't change quick (but don't have anything on the books just yet). We haven't filled you in on things since before we left for America the last time, so... Once it became clear we were traveling to America for a fundraising trip, all of the normal activities continued while we tried to put everything else for the trip in order. Our trip was mainly in Texas & along the East Coast time zone: visiting our supporters, seeing friends, and (of course) seeking more financial partners for the next two years of ministry. Over the course of this year, I'm hoping to fill in the gaps we've left, with LOTS of pictures of the trip to America and stories of what God did as we travelled! In brief, we needed to increase our monthly giving by at least $2,000 a month to stay in Slatina, and we STILL need to increase that support (if you want to know the specifics, please reach out to us). We didn't hit that on the trip, but we were so thankful for those of you who selflessly blessed us. We continue to serve, and plan to continue to serve as long as the Lord allows, despite the fact that inflation has continued to make things more difficult for us here. We know this is a hard time for everyone (believe you me, we get it), but we trust God to meet our needs. If 50 people give $40 a month (or 30 give $60/mo. or 20 give $100/mo., etc.) then we would be funded enough to continue working in Romania. We're currently considering what we would need to do to arrange another fundraising trip to America, as well as looking for helpful "side-hustle" options* to ease the financial strain. (*Please know, we know this would likely take time away from the work of ministry, so we want to avoid anything that may change our focus here. Even so, we're now financially in a place where we need to consider that as a possibility.) Here are the bullet points of what we're doing here in Romania, and even some plans for the future:
This is what's been going on, where we're headed, and we continue to look forward to great things in the future with God's help! In the coming months, like I said, we plan to fill in the gaps of the past few years, sharing both our struggles and praises, and challenging us all to be ready for the things God is doing all around us. Be on the lookout for those previous months of missed Newsletters being plugged in–you're not going to want to miss them Prayer, Praise, People Here's a snapshot of how to pray for the ministry right now:
